« on: October 19, 2015, 06:02:53 PM »

Am trying to get access back on to the bitmessage marketplace' which I remember last being hosted as a folder through the BM inbox structure.

Have been reading the instructions via the BM forum with no luck - also see error message attached;

--------------------------------

IP Address: 127.0.0.1
Port: 8442

Username: *******
Password: *******

Enter your shop address: (what goes here ??)

"Error contacting Bitmessage
Verify the client runs and your API settings are correct
If the client runs and you still get this error, delete
settings.bin from BitMarkets folder and restart BitMarket

Press any key to terminate."

--------------------------------

Any avice here?

In your bitmessage client, you have to define an address, that you want to use as the shop admin address. Bitmarket is just a market server application, which I never really finished, because there was (and still is) no demand for a market system in bitmessage. You can run your own market with that, but I doubt, that people will use it, because bitmessage is just too slow for such an application and a hassle to set up compared to other systems.

 - Thanks - been a while since I was last on BM but trying to put bits and pieces back together - any other marketplace forums/boards 'recommendations' out there?

How safe are these markets exactly? I always hear that some are monitored and what not.
